Botanical Boys
Our journey began in 2009 when moving house and renovating our Japanese and Italian water garden in London. We soon got noticed and were asked to open our garden to the public for the National Garden Scheme raising funds for good causes.
We have since been featured on the BBC Great British Garden Revival, The Sunday Times, Abigal Will's The New London Garden book amongst other publications and won a Silver medal at Chelsea Flower Show. Inspired of what was achieved with our garden we decided to focus our energy building terrariums at home. Visitors and friends quickly recognised the terrariums as a way to capture a slice of nature to bring indoors and asked us if we could teach them. Our first ever terrarium class started around our dining table with 3 friends and word quickly got round. Not too long after we opened up a plant and workshop store in Coal Drops Yard.
South African (Ben) and his founding business partner (Darren) were inspired on their travels across Africa developing a love for traditional hand crafted objects. We have built a strong supply network of family and friends whom help us source treasures and support the makers of these natural handmade objects.

School of Biophilia
The School of Biophilia is both an institution and a movement, where nature meets knowledge. We teach biophilia from nursery to professional practice, helping people learn, grow, and reconnect with the natural world. Through education, advocacy, and design, we explore how our relationship with nature can transform wellbeing, creativity, and community life. Based in the UK, but with global reach we make biophilia practical, visible, and shared. Turning ideas into experiences that bring living systems back into everyday learning and practice.

“Many people said last year that they’d found their tribe at this event and I can completely relate to that. The Journal of Biophilia conference is such a generous space for connection and growth. This time last year, The School of Biophilia was just an idea. Since then, co-founding it with my former student, Amelia Chasey, has been an incredible journey. I’m really looking forward to catching up with new friends, old colleagues, and seeing how our shared work has grown.”
Solidwool
A unique, sustainable composite material made with British Wool
Like fibreglass, but with wool. Wool is used as the reinforcement, bio-resin as the binder.
We want Solidwool to be considered as a sustainable alternative to today's petrochemical based structural reinforced plastics and composites. But more than that, we want to create a beautiful natural material with a story that connects people to the land it has come from.
