At the Journal of Biophilic Design, our aim is to achieve ZERO injuries and prevent occupational ill-health. To achieve this, we take all reasonable steps to continually enhance health and safety practices by setting clear objectives and measurable targets. We firmly believe that workplace injuries and health issues are entirely preventable and that a strong safety culture is essential for successful business operations. No task will be undertaken unless it can be performed safely. 

We are committed to fostering a culture where every individual, at every level, supports ongoing improvements in safety practices. Our mission is to deliver products and services that consistently exceed customer expectations while adhering to regulatory standards. We aim to create a workplace where the safety and well-being of our team and partners take precedence, with the belief that all accidents are avoidable. 

All contractors working with us must align with this policy, adhering to their safe systems of work and contributing to our Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems. They must ensure that their activities are carried out in a way that minimises risks to themselves and others wherever possible. 

The Director takes ultimate responsibility for health, safety, and welfare and will ensure that this responsibility is upheld across all levels of the organisation.

To uphold our health and safety standards, the Journal of Biophilic Design will: 

-              Encourage positive behavioural and cultural shifts within the workplace. 

-              Foster open communication with contractors to identify and implement improvements. 

-              Respond proactively to incidents, audits, and feedback, using them as learning opportunities. 

-              Support and influence the health and safety culture of our clients and suppliers. 

-              Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements for occupational health and safety (OHS). 

-              Provide and maintain safe, healthy working conditions, eliminate hazards, and mitigate risks.

Director’s Responsibility 

The Director is accountable for: 

-  Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Policy. 

-  Communicating outcomes from OHS incident reviews and interventions to encourage best practices. 

-  Reporting on the effectiveness of the Health & Safety Strategy and recommending improvements to promote a stronger safety culture. 

Continuous Improvement 

The Journal of Biophilic Design is committed to ongoing improvement by regularly monitoring and evaluating our performance, objectives, and targets. This policy will be reviewed annually or as required to ensure its relevance and alignment with our business goals and operational demands.
